What's in your salad? - Stone Fruit Salads
Everyone is doing it, combining summer's bountiful stone fruits with greens and cheeses and serving the ingredients as salad.

The new definition of salad is anything cut up, combined in a bowl, and served cold. Grains like farro and quinoa are making lettuce optional.

Seasonal salads are always my choice because the ingredients are at their optimal flavors, abundant and reasonably priced at stores and farmers markets.

Right now, stone fruits are really delicious. Peaches, nectarines, plums, apricots, and cherries are all members of this group of fruits which have a large center seed. Stone fruits are loaded with anti oxidents and have the associated health benefits of reducing obesity and inflammation.

Recipes abound, but using your imagination is key. If you need help, the Yummly website is an amazing source of recipes which includes number of ingredients, calories and time to prepare.
