Skinny Girl Margarita
The Skinny Girl Margarita has made the proverbial splash. And of course this is just the beginning of the brand development. I am sure that Bethenny Frankel can come up with lots of low calorie designer drinks if the price is right.
Why go to the trouble of mixing your own when designer cocktails are ready to go at just 100 calories per four-ounce serving. No matter how great it tastes, your special margarita recipe just can't compete in terms of low calories. Party on and there is no quality control. But if you still don't want to buy your cocktails ready made here is the margarita recipe which is really only 96 calories, if you are counting.
Of course the real calorie count is about how many drinks you need to get the desired effect. Portion control is personal, but to give you something to go on, the pre-mixed cocktail is 12.7% alcohol (25.4 proof). And if drinking is just a signal for you to sop up your alcohol with appetizers, you may be in trouble.
You don't have to like Bethenny Frankel to credit her for being a marketing genius. Skinny Girl, we all want to be skinny girls, and cut the calories in alcohol, why didn't I think of that? There is some controversy over whether "all natural" applies, but what's a little preservative among friends?
Nestle has the Skinny Cow brand of ice cream sandwiches and chocolate treats. Maybe they were first. But who cares about skinny cows?
