The original 12 step program promoted by Alcoholics Anonymous has been adopted by other substance abuse problems such as drugs and food.
Cooking Light's 12 healthy habits program is a planned monthly challenge to help establish better nutrition by following a program for a year. Each month a new habit is introduced. You can download a tracker to monitor your progress incorporating it into a healthy eating plan for you and your family.
Cooking Light's program is not a spiritual awakening. It suggests common sense habits that you have and need to reinforce, and new habits you can to adopt. And it proposes these as a challenge.
All their suggestions are valid, but if they don't resonate with you, make a few changes that personalize them.
Do take their advice to focus on each change for thirty days. That is considered the minimum conditioning time necessary to make or break a habit.
